The Race and Racial Justice Team is asking all RFM members and attenders for suggestions, recommendations, and ideas on what our Meeting-wide priority actions on race and racial justice should be for 2027 and 2028.

There are three ways you can do this:

  1. Attend a Listening Session on Zoom on Monday, November 2, 7:30 – 8:30 pm. Link is https://vcu.zoom.us/j/87322372347.
  2. Send your suggestions to Allen Lee at allenslee@alum.mit.eduno later than October 31, 2026.
  3. Put your suggestions in the suggestion box next to the bulletin board at Meeting. Deadline is October 31.

For 2025 and 2026, our Meeting-wide priority actions have focused on involvement with three organizations:

* The Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy

* Coming Together Virginia

* The Micah Program (Communities in Schools)

For 2027 and 2028, the Meeting could continue with any or none of the three organizations as well as adopt other priority actions such as

* New priority organizations

* Reparations (such as reparations to Friends Association for Children and reparations to indigenous peoples)

* Projects (such as the proposed Meeting-wide project to support the Sacred Heart Center)

* Learning experiences (such as Courageous Conversations)

* Forums, Speakers, Workshops

The Race & Racial Justice Team will use the suggestions received to prepare Meeting-wide priority actions for 2027 and 2028 and to recommend them to RFM at the November business meeting.
